A person’s characteristics and the quality of those characteristics are the makings of what would be considered as someone’s personality. Each individual is born with a personality of their own that is distinctive to them even if they have a similar personality or kindred ship with individuals of their likeness. There are many characteristic’s in an individual that could make up what would be considered or categorized as their personality. For instance, someone who is always aggressive, argumentative, and angry could be considered to have a negative personality. Whereas a person who is always light-mannered, smiling, and laughing could be considered an individual with positive personality traits.
Moreover, that is just scratching the surface when it comes to the many different traits and facets of even one individual’s personality. The personality is a very complex pattern of emotions mixed with actions within a human being. Some of the characteristics and traits are genetically bestowed upon us through our DNA makeup, and some are acquired through environmental circumstances. In whatever way a person chooses to analyze or define what a personality is and what it means to them, it is one thing that is for sure, that is that every individual has their own unique and distinct personality of their own.
Now that it has been measured the components that makeup what is known as a personality, Let’s get into the different personality types. 16 personality types have been broken down into categories that are known as high-level descriptions. According to Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, there are two main emotional classifications that a person’s personality traits fall into. Extroversion (E), sensing (S), thinking (T), judgment (J) which is abbreviated ESTJ, and introversion (I), intuition (N), feeling (F), perception (P) which also has an abbreviation of INFP.
Under these two categories of INFP and ESTJ falls four subcategories which it is considered to be the four permanent types of personalities. These four permanent personality types are Artisans, idealists, Guardians, and Rationalists. Moreover, these four permanent types are further broken down within the subcategories to create what is considered the 16 personality traits that are embodied by human beings. So, let’s delve into exactly what these 4 subcategories are that create what is called high levels of description in each category.
1) Artisans – These are individuals who usually take career paths in fields such as performers, composers, promoters, and crafters. These individuals are found on the big screen as acclaimed actors, singers, musicians, composers, directors, producers, writers, and publishers, and the list can truly go on and on. People who have the artistic ability to draw or create art in any form that is appealing to the masses will find themselves in this category.
2) Idealists – These are people who may be found to be a healer or nurturers such as doctors, nurses, and caregivers. They provide counsel and usually are found in places of volunteer and philanthropy work. Some of the most popular idealists that can be found would be someone like Bill and Melinda Gates who have the largest charity globally with assets estimated in the billions. Their efforts are to improve health care and decrease poverty in the United States as well as abroad.
3) Guardian – This person will usually supervise or oversee a situation. They can have an innate capability of being able to analyze and inspect. They make also feel a sense of wanting to protect. These individuals usually take a career path in law enforcement, the court of law, and politics. However, guardianship is not just limited to the judicial system. As guardianship is needed in all aspects of life, and usually entrepreneurs also claim a sense of guardianship as they have to manage and oversee their endeavors.
4) Rationalist – This person is usually a mastermind and an inventor of some sort. For instance, the great inventor Thomas Edison had to be able to rationalize to be able to materialize some of even today’s greatest inventions. Architects are considered to be rationalists because of their ability to formulate designs that are built into structures.
Each of the traits and characteristics within the four permanent personality types can be either INFP or ESTJ. Moreover, a person can honestly embody a trait from each category depending on their capabilities, and emotional, and environmental makeup. No matter what a person’s specific personality is made up of, there is always a place in the world that can benefit from their talents and traits.
